It's easy to get wrapped up in the warm, fuzzy feelings of the festive season, but it's just as important to think of the people who may find this time of year more challenging.
That's why we started our Season of Giving in 2022, which has seen us giving back to those in need each festive season to make the holidays a little more special for those facing hardship.
1. Foodbank collection & gift list

This year, we're concentrating most of our efforts on collecting for Birmingham Central Foodbank. The Brew team, our clients, and other generous people have made a big impact by sending in much-needed items, including food, personal care items, toys, and whatever else they think will be most appreciated by families facing hardship. Then, when the box is full, we deliver it to the food bank.

2. Secret Santa for vulnerable children
We are supporting the Action for Children Secret Santa again this year, where you can send gifts to vulnerable children in the UK. Items to choose from include the following.
- A trip to visit Santa (£10)
- Books and toys (£15)
- A Christmas present (£25)
- Food for a child for a week (£40)
- Warm winter clothes and bedding (£65)
4.3 million UK children now live in poverty. That's almost 1 in 3 children, so every donation through the scheme can make a child's day, week, or even entire year.
3. Increasing awareness for The Samaritans
This Christmas, we’re proud to be supporting The Samaritans once again, a charity that offers a vital lifeline to anyone struggling to cope. Every single day, The Samaritans answer over 10,000 calls for help, providing a safe space for people to talk through their worries and find support when they need it most. The festive season can be especially tough for many, and we want to help ensure that no one has to face their darkest moments alone.
By backing The Samaritans’ work, we’re helping to keep those phone lines open – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Our support this Christmas will go directly towards funding the volunteers, training, and resources that make such a difference in people’s lives. If you’d like to join us in making an impact, you can make a donation here.
