The Brief

Wadworth has been brewing beer in the beautiful market town of Devizes, Wiltshire, since 1875. In 2023, they invested in a state-of-the-art brewing facility on Folly Road, moving out of their 1885 brewery at Northgate.

Much like their previous brewery, their pubs' social media training also needed an upgrade.

Where it had previously been sporadic, the Wadworth team wanted a 12-month social media training programme that targeted managed houses and business partners across a mix of convenient online and practical in-person training.

The Approach

First, we identified gaps in social media knowledge and skills across these audiences. This allowed us to create a social media training programme for pubs that made sense to the people it was training.

From here, we could create a 12-year social media training schedule with one in-depth topic per month, such as Mastering social media strategy, How to edit creative, engaging short-form video, and Seasonal storytelling: Halloween & Christmas edition, to name a few.

The Solution

All that was left was to carry out the actual social media training sessions, delivering: In-person training that was always a hit with the team, allowing them to ask all their burning social media questions while face-to-face with an expert. It also gave us the ability to provide hands-on support for specifics, such as showing team members exactly how to edit Reels across different tools, etc.

Online webinars that brought the same in-depth social media training with the convenience of accessibility and time, allowing people to join from wherever they were (or catch up with the recording later).

This is how social media training for pubs should be: in-depth, varied, engaging, and accessible.
