A collage of presentation slides from a social media training for pubs session. One dark slide reads "Photo essentials"; another shows a phone displaying a photo of someone photographing food; a white slide lists content tips, including "how content works harder" and "social content is now passively consumed"; and a dark title slide reads "Social strategy: Social media in 2026" with a phone showing a photo of people at a bar.

Brief

Punch Pubs commissioned Brew to create and deliver bespoke social media training as part of a wider series of immersion days for their pub teams.

The immersion days ran across two dates in February 2026 and two dates in April 2026. Each day was structured around rotating group sessions, with pub teams moving between different training areas throughout the day.

Emm and Max stand smiling side by side in front of an illustrated black, white and orange mural. The mural includes text reading "At Punch, we create spaces where communities are always welcome" alongside decorative Victorian-style illustrations and a photo collage of pub buildings.

Approach

To fit this unique format, we designed a single one-hour session that could be repeated consistently across all groups and all days.

Each session covered four areas:

• Social media for pubs in 2026
• How to check your social media is working
• Photo essentials, including tips, trends, and a mini photo session (with prizes)
• A content checklist and 7-day action plan

The main goal here was to ensure that the sessions were useful, engaging, and approachable – no matter what level the team members felt they were at with social media.

Beatrice wears a beige blazer and speaks while holding papers, standing in front of a projected screen. Brithney wears glasses and stands beside Beatrice, holding notes, in a dimly lit venue with a wicker hamper on a table in the foreground.

Solution

The final result was a completely bespoke, repeatable one-hour training session built specifically for the Punch Pubs audience and operational context.

Not only could we easily pop into Punch Pubs in the future to run this session again, but it’s personalised and approachable enough that being sent the social media training presentation afterwards would still provide a wealth of tips and tricks to keep in mind
